The Essential module within Continia Banking is divided into two key areas:

  • Banking Export

  • Banking Import

Banking Export

Banking Export handles the processing of payment suggestions and the export of payments to the bank for execution.

The following illustration shows the overall payment process.

CB Payment suggestion flow

The payment process

  1. Based on an imported invoice, you create a new purchase invoice. At this point the first validation of the payment occurs as it checks against the payment method specified for the vendor.

  2. When the purchase invoices are due, you create the payment suggestions in the payment journal and validation runs again. Additionally, if you are using the Security module, an approval workflow may be enforced or the related bank accounts checked for verification.

  3. When all the payment lines are valid, they can be exported to bank. With direct communication to the bank via Continia Online using a bank format converter, the status of each payment line can be followed in real-time in the payment journal.

  4. When the payment are made the status changes to Paid and the recipients can receive a remittance advice either automatically or manually. You can now post the payment lines.

The key benefits

The feature benefits of Banking Export are:

  • Two approaches for creating payment suggestions.

  • Comprehensive validation against the bank's requirements.
