Activation and the assisted setup guide

Expense Management has now been installed but not activated. The next steps are to activate Expense Management and carry out a basic setup.

Important

When you install Expense Management, Document Capture (another Continia solution) is installed as well. Expense Management requires some of the functionality that's included in Document Capture to work. You will not be charged for any Document Capture functionality in this connection.

When signing into Business Central, a notification appears at the top of your Role Center asking if you want to activate Expense Management. Select Activate now to start the activation guide.

If a notification doesn't appear, follow the activation guide.

To activate, you will need to:

  • Enter your Continia PartnerZone user ID and password

  • Activate Expense Management in trial mode.

    • All Expense Management modules (Essentials, Credit Card Transactions, Mileage, Per Diem) are enabled for free for 30 days.

      Note that the Essentials module includes Expenses and Purchase Contracts and the Payroll integration module is only available for Danish Companies using Dataløn. For a complete overview of what the various modules includes, please refer to this Business Functionality article on Docs.

      Activate Expense Management

  • Fill in basic company information.

    • In Customer Contact and Customer Contact Email, fill in the contact details for the employee managing Expense Management. Typically, it's the CFO or accounting manager.

Expense Management has now been installed and activated.

Note

When the free trial period expires, you'll receive a notification in the Role Center saying that you need to activate the subscription for the solution and choose which of the modules you want to enable. Billing doesn't start until you reactivate Expense Management. For more details, please refer to the Solution Management article on Docs.

Next, the assisted setup guide starts automatically where you'll be guided through a basic configuration setup. Continia has made a set of configurations you can import from Continia Online. For this step, you will need to Import Configurations from Online.
