Introduction to Environmental Journals

Continia Sustainability collects your emissions data in Environmental Journals. There are three key methods for capturing and importing data into the Environmental Journals.

• Linking environmental accounts to G/L accounts, so that emissions data fields are populated during the creation of purchase and sales documents
• Linking environmental accounts to different data sources such as inventory items, so that the process of posting entries creates emissions data
• Manually entering emissions data directly into environmental journals, which is recommended only when there is no existing Business Central process that could have emission data linked to

Scenario

This module follows a series of scenarios using the Business Central demonstration company, Cronus. Follow along with Ester, who creates emission data as she:

• creates a purchase invoice for electricity
• links an inventory item to an environmental account
• manually enters information about employee commuting
