Continia Sustainability is structured to support you on your sustainability reporting journey with main features that help you get set up to calculate with emission factors, organize your business activities, collect emissions data, and report on your company’s greenhouse gas footprint.

Emission Factor Sets

Continia provides you with a default range of emission factor sets from around the globe. It’s very likely that the emission factors you need are ready to go as soon as you install the solution. You can, of course, add your own emission factors and items, which can make your emissions calculations more accurate. Continia updates the default range of emission factor sets regularly so that your calculations are up to date and reliable.

The current learning module covers emission factor sets.

Environmental accounts

Environmental accounts are flexible categories that define the business activities unique to your company. This is where you add the particular vehicles that your company uses, the types of business travel your staff take, and the equipment and machinery you use in your premises, among many others. Your subcategories within the environmental account types can be as broad or as specific as you need.

Environmental accounts are covered in the second module of this course.

Environmental data sources

Using your existing processes and information in Business Central is a key benefit of Continia Sustainability, and Environmental Data Sources are how you establish these links. For example, an inventory item can be listed as a data source for an environmental account for the materials it is made from and the waste processes needed at the end of its life cycle.

Environmental journals

Data is collected in the environmental journals as you progress throughout the reporting period. Your data can be imported from purchase invoices or other documents, general ledger entries or manually entered directly into journals.

Working with data and environmental journals is covered in the third module of this course.

Sustainability reports

The comprehensive default report is already set up for you to align with the GHG Protocol scopes. But of course, you can adjust the contents of this report by changing the reporting period or filtering with dimensions such as customer group or department. If needed, you can build your own reports to meet the needs of your company.

Sustainability reports are covered in the final module of this course.
