Essential settings on the vendor, customer, or employee card

  • 4 min.

The Customer, Vendor, or Employee cards offer additional options for configuring your Banking Export setup, allowing you to manage how payments are handled for each recipient.

While many settings for your recipients were configured during the initial setup of Continia Banking and Banking Export, you can always adjust the settings on the vendor, customer, or employee cards to override the default setup when needed.

For example, let's take a closer look at the vendor card.

The Payments FastTab

Under the Payments FastTab, you can see which settings have already been set up for the vendor, and change them if necessary. A few noticeable settings are:

  • Skip Payments: When switched on, all payments to this vendor are excluded when creating payment suggestions. This could be convenient if you made payments not sent directly from Business Central, for example, a direct withdrawal from a credit card.

  • Balance Account No.: A balance account is required for the payment journal lines to be validated and processed. If you specify a balance account directly on the vendor card, it's automatically applied to all purchase documents for the given vendor. If you leave this field blank, the default balance account setup based on currency is automatically used.

  • Payment Method Code: The payment method code specifies how the payments are usually submitted, for example, via a bank transfer or check. If the bank changes something, Continia Banking notifies you so that you can update your settings.

  • Allow Summarizing Payments: Enable this to allow multiple payments to be consolidated into a single payment suggestion. For more information about Summarizing payments, refer to the article Summarizing Payments on Continia Docs.

Alternative vendor information

If the vendor information on a purchase document does not live up to the requirements set by the bank, for example, if the text is too long, you can update the vendor information in the fields on the Alternative Vendor Information FastTab. You can, for example, remove special characters or maybe add an abbreviation of the vendor name. This way, you don't have to change the original vendor information.
