1. How does the merge rule work?
The merge rule merges all the bank statement lines into one line during import.
The merge rule makes it possible to merge bank statement lines based on a string of characters in the Description field.
The merge rule will automatically merge all unmatched bank statement lines.
The merge rule prioritizes lines that are merged in order to match bank account ledger entries, before going through the automatic match routine.
2. How do you know if a reconciliation line is ready to be posted?
The line will have the status "OK".
You can post them at any time.
As long as the status isn't "Unsolved" you can post the line.
You can't post a reconciliation line.
3. How do you correct an unsolved line?
The unsolved lines will have to be deleted and handled after the reconciliation.
A match must be found in the bank account ledger entries, and if there isn't one, the line must be deleted.
A clue to correcting it can be found in the No. of Reconciliation Suggestion or Additional info, and then matched manually to a bank account ledger entry. If there isn't a match found anywhere, a journal line must be created and then handled from the general journal.
An unsolved line is a sign that the statement file is incorrect. You must delete it and import it again.
