Get started using Continia Finance

This course begins with a brief look at the benefits, modules and available support resources for Continia Finance.

Maybe you have installed only one or two modules, or perhaps your company has installed all of the modules. We've designed the learning materials as stand-alone modules, so you can take just the ones that are relevant for you.

The Essential module includes a range of features that make your work with financial reports faster and more reliable. This free module of Continia Finance is targeted at busy bookkeepers, offering handy features such as:

• Smoother application of partial payments to open entries
• Clearer overview of original currency information
• Shortcuts for using posting group configurations
• More flexible handling of payment discounts
• Customizable balance confirmation letters
• Quicker import and export of data

Open entries functionality, such as on customer and vendor accounts, can also be used on G/L accounts with this time-saving module. The G/L Open Entries module helps you to reliably and quickly close entries on interim or transit accounts, and reconcile entries such as employee expenses and credit card transactions. With the batch application feature, your reconciliation can be speedy and accurate.

Each company’s financial reporting needs are unique, which is why Continia Finance includes the Extended Financial Reports module. It's a collection of features that extend on the functionality of standard Business Central financial reports, giving you handy shortcuts such as the G/L Account Groups and the Affliliations feature. Other features give you more flexibility for reporting, such as the Contra Asset Accounts feature which allows you to show assets and liabilities in more flexible ways.

Maybe some of your customers are part of a franchise, and their purchasing and invoicing is managed centrally. Or perhaps you work with centrally regulated groups of vendors, such as is common in German Verbundgruppen. When you have groups of customers or vendors who share financial operations, the Associations module can greatly speed up your processes, such as application of payments.

Fixed assets management often involves a bookkeeper coordinating with a colleague who has more specialized knowledge. This can create bottlenecks in processes, or cause errors that can be complicated to fix. The Extended Fixed Assets module provides template functionality which lets users with fixed asset knowledge create templates that bookkeeper colleagues can quickly apply in purchase invoices, general journal lines and fixed asset cards. You also gain the ability to create single fixed asset cards for items that have multiple quantities, such as furniture. What’s more, the Partial Disposal feature brings together all the necessary steps and procedures for either selling or scrapping a fixed asset. Lastly, you can generate a handy selection of flexible reports about fixed assets.

Do you sometimes have customers who ask to pay in installments? The Installment Payments module includes everything you need to manually create installments for an invoice, create template installment plans to reuse, and assign to a customer for automatically creating installments for each invoice. These same features can also be used with vendors and purchase orders.
