Introduction to Continia eDocuments

  • 3 min.

In response to legislative mandates and demands for greater efficiency, the landscape of business-critical documents is rapidly transforming. Many countries have already implemented requirements for specific electronic formats and exchange networks, such as Peppol and NemHandel, while others are either following suit or developing their own regulations.

Continia eDocuments is part of Continia Document Capture, and in combination with the Continia Delivery Network, it includes the essential tools and networks to meet these regulatory requirements in your country or business area, and also to align with the standards your customers follow.

You can exchange and handle virtually all of your electronic business documents throughout the purchase-to-pay process from a single place in Document Capture, whether you're sending or receiving item catalogs, purchase orders, order confirmations, sales orders, dispatch advice documents, sales invoices, or other types of documents.

Note

Continia Document Capture supports a variety of electronic document formats that are compatible with the PEPPOL and NemHandel networks. For a full list of supported formats, see the Continia Docs article: Supported Electronic Document Formats.

Continia eDocuments informs you if the electronic document you're about to send is invalid, so that you can resolve the issue before the document is sent. And if, for example, a vendor is unable to deliver your ordered items or has to make other changes to an order, the vendor can notify you immediately using an electronic order response based on which you can update the original purchase order.
